Riverside Dispensary Tha Phae sits in the Old City on Tha Phae Road, a short walk from Tha Phae Gate. This shop is open every day from 8 AM to 2 AM.

Access Located within walking distance of Tha Phae Gate and the Old City moat. Street parking and nearby paid parking lots are available; many visitors arrive on foot or by songthaew from elsewhere in the Old City.
Before you come
  • You must be 20 or older. Bring your passport or Thai ID.
  • Flower is dispensed under Thailand’s medical-cannabis rules: the Ministry of Public Health notification on cannabis as a controlled herb (Royal Gazette, June 25, 2025) requires a prescription on the official form, for no more than a 30-day supply, from one of the licensed practitioner types.
  • A licensed practitioner is on site to do that consultation. All licenses are displayed in the shop.
  • No delivery — Thai law does not allow it. Walk-in only.
  • No smoking on the premises.
  • Do not take cannabis out of Thailand.

About the Tha Phae / Old City area

Tha Phae Road runs from Tha Phae Gate — one of the original entrances to Chiang Mai's walled Old City — toward the Ping River. The surrounding neighborhood mixes guesthouses, temples, and the weekly Sunday Walking Street market, making it one of the more visited parts of the city for both residents and travelers.
